This commitment is an excellent opportunity to update the diagnosis of the situation and, more crucially, to unify the different desertification sectoral policies and actions under a single front. The Spanish government's recent declaration of climate and environmental emergency requires a new strategy to combat desertification. As a result, the diagnosis it provided was not followed by effective actions to halt desertification in Spain. Despite its scientific value, the PAND lacked a proper action plan and was completely detached from the diagnosis.

Desertification in Spain has continued to worsen and the first two decades of the 21st century have consolidated an agri-food model whose dynamics have exacerbated the desertification processes identified in the PAND. The PAND was not only pioneering but also, unfortunately, accurate. The Spanish National Action Program Against Desertification (PAND), back in 2008, already implemented a similar approach to identify five 'desertification landscapes' within Spain using both socioeconomic and climatic information. While it forgoes desertification mapping due to the intrinsic complexity of the phenomenon and the impossibility of measuring it using a single indicator, it introduces the convergence of evidence paradigm, which identifies socioeconomic and biophysical variables whose behaviour allows pointing out those areas prone to desertification.

The latest world atlas of desertification represents a turning point in the diagnosis of desertification. These analyses are useful for obtaining more detailed insight into the state of forested areas in this part of Serbia, which is the least afforested one. The results indicated that total depopulation has been an ongoing, 30-years process in this area on the one hand, while the forest cover in the depopulated settlements located on the outskirts of the Deliblato sands (a special nature reserve) has decreased, and the forest cover in the depopulated settlements in the zone of the Vršac mountains has increased, on the other. The data obtained were then turned into visual representations, or maps, using the GIS ArcMap 10.8. Geo-spatial data for forest areas were taken from the Corine Land Cover database. The time span included in the analytical-statistical research of the demographic components and forest dislocation lasted from 1990 to 2018. Considering that settlements give a cultural landscape its basic features, that they are the main bearers of functional organization, and the hotspots of geo-spatial transformation, based on quantitative-qualitative indicators this paper analyzes the spatial-demographic determinants of the development of 94 settlements, and the impact of depopulation on the changes in the surrounding forest cover. If the title “UN Agenda 21/2030 Mission Goals” sounds confusing, that’s because it is actually a combination of the UN’s Agenda 21, a non-binding action plan of the United Nations developed in 1992 with regard to sustainable development, and its 2030 Agenda, a list of 17 goals adopted by UN Member States in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.The key problem of rural settlements in the South Banat district lasted into the 21st century through the spread of depopulated areas. On the list are items including “One World Central Bank”, “One World Military”, “The end of the family unit”, “Universal basic income”, “Depopulation, control of population growth and population density”, and “Mandatory multiple vaccines”. Along with the caption is a photo of a list titled “UN Agenda 21/2030 Mission Goals”. The author adds that this is part of an “agenda 21 depopulation and vaccine plan”. The author of the comment states that the Singapore government is trying to “scam” the public into taking “this poison vaccine” by making it free. The comment was in response to a post in which shared a link to an article on Today about how the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for use in Singapore and how there will be enough for everyone here by the third quarter of 2021.
